Cat Spaying and Neutering: How To Prevent the Hassle of Too Many Cats in Your Condo

Cat Spaying and Neutering can help you live with just the right number of pets.

Do you live in a condo?  Are you a parent to one or more cats?  You should consider having them spayed or neutered.

Why? Let me share with you a story of a client’s cat . . .

Many years ago,  I had a client who loved her cat.  I told her that she should have her spayed.

She told me that her cat doesn’t live in her condominium anyway.  Her cat wouldn’t meet other Tom Cats that may make her have kittens.

Fast forward a few months.  She found out that when her kasambahay goes out of their condo to visit other units, she brings the cat with her.

Lo and behold, her queen met a Tom.  What naturally happens, happened.  So, she gave birth to 3 kittens.

I told the cat mommy, “Let’s get all of them spayed before you have too many cats in your house.”

She refused and just told me that she’ll make sure none of her cats will meet a male cat.  She swore with her life.  Famous last words.

Later on . . .

Her queens all got pregnant and she couldn’t explain why!

Now she has 13 lovely cats in her condo unit: 7 females and 6 males from the last count.

She became one of our favorite clients because she bought a lot of cat food, kitty litter, cat toys in addition to the required vaccinations and parasite preventives.

While this cat parent LOVES all her cats and she has the resources to take care of all of them, it was getting too much.  Her house was looking messy.  Her furniture was getting scratches everywhere and her place started to smell like a cattery.

Cat Spaying Keeps You From Unwanted Suprises

Finally I told her: “This is the last time I will tell you, let’s have them spayed and neutered.

While we do enjoy the increased business we are getting from you, we are getting worried that it is becoming too tiresome for you and it may not be healthy for your cats if there are too many of them in one area.”

For her sake, she finally conceded and said “Yes!”

We then scheduled one whole morning in the hospital to have all of her cats fixed.

There was a sign of relief from her.  Having more cats will make her household crazy.

The cats are lucky that their cat mommy had money to take care of them.  If she didn’t,  they would be in horrible living conditions.

Always think about this when you consider having a cat in your house.

How about you? If you are a responsible pet parent and do not want to have unwanted surprises in the future, please consider neutering and spaying your pets.
